Welcome to Simple Naturopathy
Wellness and its many facets can feel overwhelming. We all deserve to feel well, but where to start?
Our endeavour is to simplify the science and provide therapeutic interventions which can be easily integrated into the lifestyle of anyone wishing to improve their overall wellbeing and vitality.
As a Naturopath, Emma’s focus is to identify the root cause of suboptimal health and address concerns through nutrition, lifestyle alterations and herbal medicine. Always holding in mind that we are each completely unique and more than the sum of our parts.
What is Naturopathy?
Naturopathy comes down to six basic principles
1. The healing power of nature - vis medicatrix naturae
2. Identifying and treating the cause - tolle causam
3. Treat the whole person - tolle totum
4. First do no harm - primum non nocere
5. Doctor as teacher - docere
6. Prevention - preventare
This modality is heavily rooted in ancient history while functioning synergistically with scientific evolution and continual study into our bodies and their biomedical, physical and emotional health.
Naturopathy focuses on the bodies ability to heal by identifying predisposing, excitatory, and sustaining factors that may be preventing optimal health and wellbeing. This is done through detailed case taking, functional pathology testing, referrals where necessary and implementing lifestyle and dietary changes, in addition to utilising herbal medicine and nutritional supplementation to bring the body back to balance.
